CREAFUTUR is a private foundation promoted by the Government of Catalonia and ESADE Business School. Its mission is to promote and foster innovation in businesses and institutions, understanding people’s future needs and the trends shaping the market, to help detect and disseminate new areas of opportunity through new products, new services, new business models and new communication strategies. All Creafutur projects aim a putting the customer, the user and/or the citizen at the heart of the innovation process.

Creafutur accumulates a wide experience in mobility sector, with special focus on user needs characterization, new mobility concepts evaluation and identification of future business opportunities in urban mobility services.

PROJECTS:

  • smartCEM project (CIP ICT-PSP 2012): Four European cities/regions (Barcelona, Gipuzkoa-San Sebastian, Newcastle and Reggio Emilia) come together under the project smartCEM (Smart Connected ElectroMobility) to demonstrate the role of ICT solutions to overcome the limitations of electromobility for cities and citizens. Barcelona pilot consisted on an electric scooter sharing service (MOTIT). More info: www.smartcem-project.eu
  • Smart Mobility project (2011-2012): Creafutur and the Barcelona City Council performed an in-depth study to evaluate the citizens’ needs in terms of mobility and assess the feasibility of deploying an electric vehicle shared service in Barcelona.
  • The user of future's train: Smart Mobility (2014-2015): Creafutur carried out a project for the Catalan railway cluster (Railgrup) that aimed to find innovative solutions for rail transport from user needs and main industry trends.
  • Urban Mobility project in Barcelona (2013-2016): Creafutur is coordinating periodic workshops between a European automotive OEM and regional authorities in order to identify and conceptualise future mobility services in the city.
  • G-MOTIT (2015-2016): a H2020 project that aims to enhance an innovative electric scooter sharing system for urban mobility with EGNSS-based location technology. MOTIT is an innovative service that has been developed in order to solve mobility problems in the city of Barcelona and potentially major metropolitan areas in Europe. Founded in 2001, Pildo Labs (www.pildo.com) is an engineering company specialized in delivering top of the edge technology within the aeronautics and ITS sectors. Pildo is recognized as experts in the introduction of satellite navigation technology in ATM and Intelligent Transport Systems sectors. Pildo Labs Wessex is created in 2014, as a subsidiary Pildo Labs Company with base at United Kingdom (UK). New UK branch is to be UK CAA approved body for the commercialization of specific services within the ATM market under Single European Sky (SES) rules, and catalyze the introduction of products and services in other domains than ATM, such as Intelligent Transport Systems or ITS. The new company inherits from Pildo Labs the expertise and excellent record in the successful completion of studies and developments for major clients such as EUROCONTROL, ESA, The European Commission, National Air Navigation Service providers and governments.
