Neurosoft Sp. z o. o. was established in 1992 as a spin-off of academic co-workers and graduates of University of Wroclaw and Wroclaw University of Technology. Technology provided by Neurosoft is based on artificial neural networks (AI). The main objective is to use artificial intelligence in practice. Neurosoft's strategy is to develop innovative products based on unique technologies.
Neurosoft’s journey has started based on the idea to make easier and safer the daily life of human being. For this purpose Neurosoft’s core technologies are: speech analysis and synthesis, digital signal processing (optical character recognition) and natural language processing.. Company’s goal is to build innovative solutions linking a man and a machine with intuitive interface. Thanks to a strong R&D department Neurosoft successfully transforms research on new technologies into specific products. Neurosoft is a stakeholder of international R&D projects dedicated to traffic management and road safety systems.
Particularly important applications of our technologies are these connected to intelligent transport and road safety systems. Neurosoft is the first company offering commercial solutions for complex identification of vehicles in motion on the basis of digital image analysis only.
Based on experience and scientific approach Neurosoft became to be a globally acting supplier providing technology for the identification and recognition of vehicles. The main product line offered by Neurosoft is NeuroCar – a family of products that applies advanced image analysis methods in intelligent transport and road safety systems.
Automatized processes of NeuroCar take place in real time delivering its users uniquequality of recognition due to sophisticated method enabling Make and Model Recognition of car. NeuroCar supports statistical analysis and business intelligence accessible on-line via intuitive web application. All products are supported by IT engines based on neural network technology.
NeuroCar became an effective tool to promote road safety and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) in cites and roadways enabling faster and safer transport of people and goods. The products allow, i.a. for non-invasive detection of the vehicle presence and automatic recognition of its license plate, vehicle category, manufacturer (ex. Ford, Toyota), model (ex. Taurus, Yaris), even vehicle spee and color – all this complex identiticataion is possible based on video signal only!
Neurosoft deliver an effective operational work tools for private and public entities as: Police officers, road engineers, and Road Transport Inspection, etc.
The best-sold products of NeuroCar are:
- NeuroCar RedLight - a stationary registering enforcement device that automatically reveals violations of traffic rules committed by drivers not complying with traffic lights;
- NeuroCar Weigh-in-Motion - a system for the detection and identification of oversized and overloaded vehicles in motion; system combined with dangerous goods identification system (ADR);
- NeuroCar Section Speed Control – an enforcement system for measuring the average speed of vehicles on the designated road section;
- NeuroCar Access Control - is an automatic system which allows for the control and monitoring of vehicles in demarcated zones, on the basis of video-identification;
- NeuroCar Vehicle Identification - a system designed for detection and identification of vehicles in motion performed on basis of their image from a video camera.

The Fraunhofer LBF (www.lbf.fraunhofer.de) looks back on 75 years of experience in the field of structural durability and nowadays expanded with the expertise in adaptronics, plastics and system reliability. The Fraunhofer LBF develops, evaluates and realizes customized solutions for safety relevant products with a team of more than 450 employees together with the associated Chair of System Reliability and Machine Acoustics SzM and Chair of Macromolecular Chemistry of the TU Darmstadt. In doing so, the full added value chain is considered, from the idea to the product, from the material to the system and over the full life-cycle. For the customized solutions, the LBF provides versatile test facilities on more than 17.000 m2 which are complemented by the Virtual Test Lab for numerical simulations and testing. Since 1 July 2012, the German Institute for Polymers (DKI) became a division of Fraunhofer LBF. Thus, the competences of the Fraunhofer LBF have been extended by synthesis, processing, analysis and testing of functional and engineering plastics. Furthermore, the new battery test center for evaluatiing the life-time and reliability of complete battery systems has opened April 2015. The Fraunhofer LBF is currently structured into the four divisions Structural Durability, Smart Structures, Plastics and System Reliability.

Watertruck (www.watertruck.eu) is an innovative concept for the transport of goods on small waterways (CEMT I-IV) which can unlock the economic potential of a region by using small, self-propelled or unpropelled barges.
The concept, combined with small or large, environmentally friendly pushers, allows for a maximal flexibility of operations whilst maintaining a maximal regional scope, linking the small inland waterways to the TEN-T core network and vice versa, according to the TEN-T corridor principle of the European Commission.
The Watertruck+ project, a TEN-T/CEF project, aims to do just that. The goal is to provide the market with the tools for the construction of a fleet of 500 vessels, rolling out the Watertruck concept across the various European regions.
As a first step, certain standards will be established in order to reduce production costs and improve the interoperability of the vessels, both in terms of sailing areas and in terms of cargo type. As a proof of concept, a small fleet of 28 barges and 3 pushers will be constructed and deployed in a large-scale trial phase, shipping some 1,6 million tonnes of cargo per year.
The results of the trial phase will be combined with a financial toolbox, to create a Master Plan which will contain business cases for theconstruction and financing of a large European fleet of Watertruck+ vessels.
